I watched a Fast and Furious movie. As you can see, it was Furious 6. Now, I don’t know if it was just because I haven’t seen the prequels to this movie or what, but... *dons flamesuit* it was awful. Seriously, that was a really dumb movie, I almost gave up on it about 3 times. I know there’s a lot of F&F fans out there, and I’m not saying that everyone should hate the movies, but after experiencing one, my opinion is that they’re grotesquely overrated, and I probably won’t watch another one. Please don’t kill me.

They ARE Awful.. well, the first one wasn’t, but the other ones are. BUT I like them, not because cars or anything, but I quite like having a beer and just watch cheesy movies that don’t require any brain activity at all :)

You probably forgot to shut your brain off.

Yeah, that was probably the biggest issue...
Like, I kept thinking... HOW LONG IS THAT GODDAMN RUNWAY

Overrated? I don’t think any of them have ever received a good rating! They are horrible, far fetched and campy. That’s why we watch them, it’s like watching MST3k, so bad you find a reason to like them.

It just seems like everyone has some unexplained love for them... After seeing this one I was just surprised that they’ve somehow managed to get the funding (and still attract audiences!) to see 7 of them.

That was probably the worst one you could have started with. I like all of them to an extent but the latter movies are just so over the top that it’s hard to get into them and empathize with the characters if you haven’t started at the beginning and seen the evolution of the series and how the characters have developed. Even if you hated 6, I would strongly recommend watching the first movie. Think of it as more of a cult classic going in and it’s pretty fun to watch, the cheesy writing and lack of realism kind of add to the experience, like its a modern B-movie. If you like the first, then just proceed through the series. If you don’t like the first movie, then even still I would recommend Tokyo Drift, as it is the biggest departure from the series formula, and probably the most down to earth and realistic.

Watch em all, and go into them with the same brain-shut-off-ness as you would with The Expendables or any 80’s/90’s action film and you’ll be good.

I didn’t really have much choice as to which one I started with, I just saw it on HBO and decided “Fuck it, I’ve never seen one, I’ll record it and watch it later”

pintos and gremlins are total turds as well, but people still like them
Its best not to think about it too hard. Just sit back, turn off the higher functions, and enjoy fast cars, big explosions, and scantly clad women (or vin diesel if thats your thing)

I hear ya. If I had to rank them it would probably be:
1
3
7
4
2
5
6
So, yeah, I wasn’t too impressed with 6 either.

I saw the first one and hated it, saw the second with promises it was “better” it was I think... but now its just sort of became a series of cliches, crazy unrealistic scenes and they aren’t worth paying for, IMO but I will watch them.

@PushtoStart
Not sure how big fan of car action movies you are, but thats what the Fast & the Furious movies are for. As a jalopnik member, I like these movies (especially the first movie) because no other movie related to cars does what the Fast & the Furious series has done;
